RUNNING FOR COVER was a brute force hardcore band that existed in Buffalo, NY (USA) from 2002-2005. The lineup was consistent throughout the time of the band’s operations, comprised of Patrick Bolger (vocals), Michael Gifford (guitar), David Bailey (bass/noise) and Eric Ellman (drums). In 2003, RUNNING FOR COVER created a 20-song demo (self-released- approx. 250 made), and the 13-song Human Ruins 7″ (625/Out Of Limits- 1000 pressed), as well as recording live at the CIUT FM Toronto “Equalizing-X-Distort” radio program. The 20-song Dark Well LP (625/Art of The Underground/Unholy Thrash- 1000 pressed) was then recorded in 2005, but went unreleased until 2008 due to a variety of setbacks. Other output included three pieces from the final live performance (September 3rd, 2005) on the “Trapped In A Scene” compilation (625/Give Praise), and a cover of Raw Power’s “You Are The Victim” on the “Iron Lung Mixtape I” compilation (Iron Lung). Later, RUNNING FOR COVER released a live eponymous DVD (Warm Bath- 300 pressed) containing the entire last show, along with video from another performance and a flier gallery. In 2014, the remixed and remastered demo cassette was released as the Demo LP (Painkiller- 500 pressed). RUNNING FOR COVER played 20 shows during the band’s brief existence.
